996 Years Ago...

[SPOILER ALERT: If you're watching Adventure Time (or are interested in it) and haven't seen yet the last episodes from the fourth season or the ongoing ones from the fifth, stop reading.]

So, I was tired of studying and decided to take a look to some of my folders; to my surprise, I found this old drawing I didn't finished. It started after watching the Adventure Time's episode "Simon & Marcy", but for some reason I forgot about it until now.

This is my tribute not only to Adventure Time (the Mushroom War's section), but specially to these two intimate characters: Simon & Marcy. I remember when I watched the episode "Remember You"; not only I didn't expect that kind of father-daughter relationship between the Ice King and Marceline, but I also cried with that. Such an emotive episode... And when I heard about a future episode titled "Simon & Marcy", I wanted to watch it so badly! Maybe it wasn't an emotive one like the previous one, but still it was perfect; specially to confirm that strong bond between both characters. Adventure Time is a show for kids (maybe), but has some serious business behind all that good and colorful mood. That's why is one of the shows I love the most.

Also gotta say that I finally got back to my old and traditional style. I really missed it! As for the drawing, I wanted to adapt it to my style and also make it quite more tragic compared to the episode the picture is based on. Not completely realistic, but not cartoonish either. By the way, Marceline's not crying because of those monsters; she's crying because Simon broke once again his promise to not put on the crown. But he had to in order to defend poor little Marcy...

Pues, estaba cansado de estudiar y decidí echar un vistazo a algunas de mis carpetas; para mi sorpresa, me encontré este viejo dibujo que tenía sin terminar. Lo empecé tras ver el episodio de Hora de Aventuras "Simon & Marcy", pero por alguna razón me
olvidé de él hasta ahora.

Este es mi tributo no sólo a Hora de Aventuras (la parte de la Guerra de los Champiñones), sino especialmente también a estos dos personajes entrañables: Simon & Marcy. Recuerdo cuando vi el episodio "Te Recuerdo"; no sólo no me esperaba esa clase de relación padre-hija entre el Rey Hielo y Marceline, sino que además lloré con eso. Un episodio muy emotivo... Y cuando me entere de un futuro episodio titulado "Simon & Marcy", ¡ardía en deseos de verlo! Puede que no fuera tan emotivo como el anterior,
pero aun así fue perfecto; especialmente para comprobar el fuerte vínculo entre ambos personajes. Hora de Aventuras es un programa para niños (quizás), pero tiene algunas partes serias detrás de todo ese humor tan bueno y colorido. Por eso es una de las series que más me gustan.

También debo decir que finalmente he vuelto a mi viejo estilo tradicional. ¡Cómo lo echaba de menos! En cuanto al dibujo, quería adaptarlo a mi estilo y de paso hacerlo algo más trágico en comparación con el episodio en el que está basada la imagen. No de manera completamente realista, pero tampoco muy de dibujos animados. Por cierto, Marceline no llora por los monstruos; llora porque Simon ha vuelto a romper su promesa de no ponerse la corona. Pero no tenía más remedio si quería defender a la pobre y
delicada Marcy...
